Privacy
Hoot & Learn is made by JMS SaaS Ltd. This page explains, in plain English, what information is used and why. Last updated 15 October 2026.
Your children
Children's names, ages, voice recordings and progress are saved only in the web browser on your own device. They are never sent to us or anyone else. There are no child accounts, no adverts and no tracking inside the games. Clearing your browser's website data, or deleting the children on the grown-ups page, removes it.
When you buy
Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address and payment details to take the payment; we never see your card details. We receive the email address, your name if you give it, and confirmation that you paid, so we can send a receipt, and unlock Hoot & Learn on your other devices when you type that email. We keep these payment records for as long as the law requires for accounting, normally six years. Stripe's own privacy policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
The website
The fonts, pictures and Ollie's voice are served from this website itself, so opening the app doesn't send requests to other companies. Our hosting provider processes standard technical information such as your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. If you arrive from one of our adverts, the web address includes a short campaign label (for example, which advert you tapped). If you then buy, we save that label with your payment record so we know which adverts work. It is not stored on your device, and there is no advertising pixel, cookie or tracker on this website.
To learn which games families use, the website counts simple totals, for example "the Year 2 adding game was started 12 times today" or "the unlock screen was opened 5 times", together with the advert label if there is one. Only the event name and the date are counted. We do not record names, profiles, scores, device IDs, IP addresses or anything about your child, and nothing is stored on your device, so the totals can't be linked to you or your family.
Advert measurement cookie
On the home page only, we ask whether we can use Meta's measurement tool (the Meta Pixel). If you tap OK, Meta sets a cookie and receives that you visited the page, tapped to play or opened the payment page, so we can see which Facebook and Instagram adverts work and show them to similar families. If you tap No thanks, nothing is sent to Meta. It is never used inside the games, and nothing about your children is ever sent. You can change your mind by clearing this website's data in your browser. Meta's own use is explained in Meta's privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@hootandlearn.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
