For grown-ups

The things parents hate about learning apps, fixed

⭐

Mistakes never cost stars

A wrong answer never takes points away. Ollie shows how to work it out, then they try another.

🧾

Nothing to cancel

Pay once. No trial that turns into a subscription, no renewals, no surprise charges.

🚫

Never asks your child to buy

No adverts or pop-ups. Locked games say "ask a grown-up", and prices sit behind a typed sum like 16 × 9.

🔐

No logins, nothing shared

No accounts or passwords. Names and progress stay on your device, and a parents' page shows their scores.

🗣️

A calm British voice

Not a robot, not an American accent. Every question is read aloud, so early readers can play alone.

Questions

Things parents ask us

What can we play for free?

The first games and levels in every world are free, including two stories, the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, and the first skill in each year group. You can see exactly how it works before you pay.

Is it matched to the National Curriculum?

Yes. Maths by Year and English by Year follow the National Curriculum for England, from Year 1 to Year 6, including the Year 4 multiplication tables check. It's a home-practice app and isn't a replacement for school.

How many children can use it?

All the children in your family. Each child gets their own profile, name, level and progress.

How do I unlock it on another phone or tablet?

Open Hoot & Learn on the other device, tap Unlock, then "I've already paid", and type the email address you paid with. Each device keeps its own progress.

Does it need the internet?

Only the first time, and to buy or unlock. After that it works offline, including Ollie's voice.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay once and keep it. New games we add are included at no extra cost.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Every purchase has a 30-day money-back guarantee. If Hoot & Learn isn't right for your family, email hello@hootandlearn.co.uk within 30 days of paying, from the email you paid with, and we'll refund you in full. No forms, no questions. This is on top of your legal rights.

Can I give it as a present?

Yes. Choose Give it as a gift, pay £19.99, and you get a printable gift card with a code straight away. The family types the code into Hoot & Learn to unlock everything. Codes don't expire, and the money-back guarantee applies to gifts too.

Is it in the App Store?

Not yet. It runs in your web browser, so there's nothing to install. You can add it to your home screen and it works like an app.
